Unknown input observer design and analysis for networked control systems

چکیده
The insertion of communication networks in the feedback loops of control systems is a defining feature of modern control systems. These systems are often subject to unknown inputs in a form of disturbances, perturbations, or attacks. The objective of this paper is to design and analyze an observer for networked dynamical systems with unknown inputs. The network effect can be viewed as either a perturbation or time-delay to the exchanged signals. In this paper, we (a) review an Unknown Input Observer (UIO) design for non-networked system, (b) derive the Networked Unknown Input Observer (NetUIO) dynamics, (c) design a NetUIO such that the effect of higher delay order terms are nullified and (d) establish stability-guaranteeing bounds on the networked-induced time-delay and perturbation. The formulation and results derived in this paper can be generalized to scenarios and applications where the signals are perturbed due to a different source of perturbation or delay. Keywords—Networked Control Systems, Unknown Input Observers, NetUIO, Time-Delay Systems.

Design of Observer-based H∞ Controller for Robust Stabilization of Networked Systems Using Switched Lyapunov Functions
In this paper, H∞ controller is synthesized for networked systems subject to random transmission delays with known upper bound and different occurrence probabilities in the both of feedback (sensor to controller) and forward (controller to actuator) channels. A remote observer is employed to improve the performance of the system by computing non-delayed estimates of the sates. The closed-loop s...
متن کاملAn Unknown Input Observer for Fault Detection Based on Sliding Mode Observer in Electrical Steering Assist Systems
Steering assist system controls the force transfer behavior of the steering system and improves the steering probability of the vehicle. Moreover, it is an interface between the diver and vehicle. Fault detection in electrical assisted steering systems is a challenging problem due to frequently use of these systems. This paper addresses the fault detection and reconstruction in automotive elect...
متن کاملDesign of nonlinear parity approach to fault detection and identification based on Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model and unknown input observer in nonlinear systems
In this study, a novel fault detection scheme is developed for a class of nonlinear system in the presence of sensor noise. A nonlinear Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is implemented to create multiple models. While the T-S fuzzy model is used for only the nonlinear distribution matrix of the fault and measurement signals, a larger category of nonlinear systems is considered. Next, a mapping to decou...

This paper fully discusses how to design an observer based decentralized fuzzy adaptive controller for a class of large scale multivariable non-canonical nonlinear systems with unknown functions of subsystems’ states. On-line tuning mechanisms to adjust both the parameters of the direct adaptive controller and observer that guarantee the ultimately boundedness of both the tracking error and tha...
متن کاملNeural-Smith Predictor Method for Improvement of Networked Control Systems
Networked control systems (NCSs) are distributed control systems in which the nodes, including controllers, sensors, actuators, and plants are connected by a digital communication network such as the Internet. One of the most critical challenges in networked control systems is the stochastic time delay of arriving data packets in the communication network among the nodes. Using the Smith predic...
